I'm late as usual - well done on the fab A1c, Lindarose.😛:D😛 Brilliant work!
I've also been 'threatened' with Statins, so I'm on low-fat cheese and the mayonnaise is rationed! Boo hoo. I'm also eating as many nuts n seeds as my BG'll allow, olive oil, oats and leafy greens. Yum yum. 😛

Good luck with getting yours down!🙂

Thanks Bloden. I hope your diet changes help. I'll be interested to hear if you get improvements next test 🙂

Mine was 6.7 last November and down to 4.2 in Feb I'm hoping and praying it's stayed the same come Mays review too as I went low carb, high fat. I stopped the statin when I got the 4.2 in Feb and told them why and with other things mixed in too. I was then told to keep taking them as a just in case because I was over 40 (I'm 51) I refused as was my right. Nursy was not pleased at all but I said my body my decision. I also checked with SIGN (I'm Scotland) as well over the use of statins and it's in black and white all over 40s with T2 have to take it regardless of baseline cholesterol?????

Good luck reducing it but don't be bullied into taking a drug you are wary off and the reason behind it too.

Just a little update on my cholesterol busting diet!
I'm struggling to drink coffee without cream. Just not the same. I allow myself one cup in the morning or I wouldn't get up! I'm eating much less cheese. And it's half fat too. Goes against the grain for me really.
I'm going to pay £5 for a cholesterol check on tescos in a couple of weeks to see if I'm making any progress. If not I may as well continue to enjoy the cream and cheese as before.
Eating cashew nuts too. They're the only ones I like raw.
All that plus trying to keep carbs down. Let's hope it works

I've just had a Tescos cholesterol test. Was told the change would be minimal in such a short time i.e. a month. Anyway as I'd fasted I went ahead and it's now 6.66 A huge improvement on the 8.4. from last year.
Really inspired me to keep up the changes.
