Tuesday. I saw my GP today for the result of my HbA1c ~ which was 33 :D(5.1%) Over the moon!:D My GP was overjoyed too and complimented my efforts of managing my Diabetes with diet control & exercise only and confirmed I am still in remission. She also provided me with a link for a low fat eating plan.

I'm ecstatic about my HbA1c result ever mindful that I was prescribed strong painkillers for bruised ribs following my collapse which was then followed by a chest infection that required a Course of Antibiotics. Also I had an awfully painful attack of Cellulitis (Not Cellulite) that lasted four months, when my left foot, ankle and leg swelled to the extreme up to my thigh and with a burning red rash ~ which necessitated a further Course of Antibiotics. I was unable to do any exercise during this time and ashamed to say I ate a load of c**p comfort eating!!😱 All of which impacted my daily bgls. So I was more than surprised with my HbA1c result. Thus I gained weight which I've been addressing more recently. All in all, I'm a very happy bunny:D

Wow, well done. Must be such a relief after all you have endured recently. I hope you enjoy the celebrations.

Excellent results, @wirralass! But a leaflet on low fat eating? Don't they know how got into remission in the first place? Low fat & low carb is virtually impossible.🙄

Tom Kerridge has a low carb recipe for tiramisu WL. Have you tried it yet @Mark Parrott ?

That's what I've been thinking,I'd rather stick to the one I know,x
It is well worth changing to ensure that you have your regular nurse. No point in wasting your time and theirs with others in whom you do not have the same level of confidence. Mind you the Practice nurse I had seen left and I had to go back to the lead nurse. I was pleasantly surprised, as we had not had a good appointment a few years ago.
