Result on strips

When i was diagnosed end of April, doctor wouldnt give me a tester, anyhow when i went to DN she told me to read here but wasnt prepared to give me a tester, when i went back to her i said i have been reading the forums and people said everyone should test😛
OK says she, i will give you one but not putting them on repeat as they are expensive🙄, dont go doing it every five mins.
Anyway a friend gave me some as hers are on repeat, these have now run out, so today i go into the docs and ask the receptionist if it would be possible to get a script.
Yes she says, just need to get is signed by the doctor and i will put these on repeat for you🙂🙂
So i have the script from today, will see what happens when i get my repeats in 3 weeks

Well done goosey...they usually say 'no' (as you clearly are aware)...always worth challenging them...just wondering how many strips the DSN gave you...and what's been put on your repeat prescription?...even when they concede and provide a meter/testing strips they do try to limit us in the amount...now you have it on repeat...you can challenge them later...once you demonstrate your control...point out testing regularly...a great point to use if/when you need to ask for more...once again well done...not enough of us ask after an initial refusal...very encouraging to hear your success story...hope it will inspire more of our members to be persistent...it does pay off.

Good news 🙂 No motivated person should be denied a prescription for test strips, and they should be supported in how to get the best out of them 🙂

Brilliant, lets hope it all goes smoothly. Remember to make notes on reading and what you've done with those results then if you're challenged at all you're ready to show them how you're using them to good effect, I'm a cynic but it's harder for them to make a fuss if you can show that you're using the data to improve things. Excellent job
