Relationship to Diabetes
Hi everyone,

I am a MSc Psychology student at Liverpool Hope University and I am currently carrying out research regarding health anxiety amongst individuals with diabetes.

The research involves an online questionnaire which is completely anonymous and shouldn't take long. You don't have to have anxiety regarding your diabetes to participate.

If you have been diagnosed with diabetes and would like to take part please click on this link https://lhubos.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/levels-of-health-anxiety-amongst-individuals-with-diabetes

Thank you!!

Hi Hannah, have you got approval for this from the Moderators? I am happy to help.

Done. A little feedback if I may: There were a couple of questions where the answer I wanted to give wasn't there, eg the one about eating low fat foods. Maybe add "none of the above" to some of them. There was also a question with two right answers but I could only put one: the one about treating a hypo - unless milk is a hypo treatment I'm not aware of. I haven't tried it but I wouldn't have thought it would have enough fast acting carbs in it.

Very minor but it bothers some of us: you have a rogue apostrophe in your introduction!

Hi, thanks for the feedback! I have used a verified diabetes questionnaire I did not create the questions myself therefore can't edit the questions but will discuss with my supervisor. I will also remove the apostrophe haha thanks for letting me know.

Hannah.

Done.

Done.
I had a little problem with some questions. Personally I do not consider my diabetes to be an illness, but I do have CKD which I do consider to be an illness.
And like Radders , the question that had two right answers , treating hypo's and only being able to tick one . Also I too am not sure that milk would be fast acting for a hypo treatment.
Apologies if it seems I'm nit picking , I just thought I'd mention it. On the whole it's a pretty good questionnaire.

Done! The question I had a problem with was, does Blood Glucose rise or fall with exercise? It depends on the sort of exercise for me.
I agree with this.

What a weird questionnaire! For some reason, I felt it was written with a particular result in mind.

Anyway, good luck with your studies Hannah.🙂

Had a go but really impossible to answer. What if you really do have a serious illness, apart from diabetes? My hypothyroidism is very difficult to manage at the moment and is causing me lots of problems, but my t2d is responding well to diet and I really don't think over much about it. I would assume that a lot of people are in the same position, or have more than one illness. I too feel that this questionnaire is put together with an end already in mind.

I could not complete the questionnaire as it started to ask about 'the diabetes diet' without any indication of what is meant, no indication of what a 'free food' is - and no low carb option in the answers.
Also - I am a type 2 diabetic not on any medication - why would I know the best way to treat a hypo?
