Does semaglutide help prevent steroid-induced diabetes?
How GLP-1 Analogues Prevent Steroid-Induced Diabetes (The GAPSID Study)Researchers at Imperial College London would like to recruit adults living with prediabetes, or diagnosed with type 2 diabetes with HbA1c between 48 and 52 mmol/mol, to take part in a study that is looking to see how the diabetes drug, semaglutide, may prevent steroid-induced diabetes. Taking part involves five visits to Hammersmith Hospital in West London over three weeks. You'll be given the study medicines for seven days only.
There is a payment of up to £750 for completing the whole trial (including optional second-day visits) to cover expenses and the inconvenience caused. For more information, please contact Dr Katharine Lazarus at imperial.steroids@nhs.net.
