I still need a lot more participants if anyone could spare the time to help me out I would really appreciate it! 🙂

I suspect everyone in here that fits your criteria has already completed the questionnaire so, unless you want to broaden the field a bit... ? Have you also approached some of the other forums?

I have tried through diabetes.co.uk but they said I would have to pay at least £5 per participant to them which I do not receive funding towards and cannot pay myself. It's a shame NHS ethics takes so long as I would have had enough participants. Could you send me in the right direction of other forums to try please?

Here you go, I did a quick Google.

Hiya, I've just put your request to the team at DSF... we'll be back to you soon. I see no probs.

Meantime I've done the survey. I want to say that though I ticked that I was dissatisfied with my appearance and various other dissatisfactions they have nothing to do with diabetes. You tell me any other 68 year old woman who's thrilled with her appearance.. LOL! Nor do I have kids, or strong faith. Or any faith. A sort of disclaimer would have been good at the end e.g. a window we could have filled in saying "although I have had symptoms of sore throat and am fed up with my sex life etc they weren't due to diabetes. LOL!

I am shocked rigid that diabetes.co.uk are trying to make money out of you. That site is of course commercial... but there are limits!

I wasn't impressed by that either :( Fair enough if it's a marketing research company recruiting, but not a student researcher.

Yes, despite the researcher saying she didn't use then because of cost - she actually LINKS to their ruddy forum at the end!

I think that's a bit of a slap in the face, for both of the DSF's frankly J Philbin.

Ooh! Hadn't noticed that! Any chance you could change the link to ours?

Well £5 was their lowest. They said between £5-£50 depending on numbers and how many questions it had. I don't get any funding and I can't afford to pay the lowest of £5 per participant as that's £500! I had put their forum on as the questionnaire is on this forum. Not to try and move people it was just a way to spread across all forums and network really. I never got to put this
Forum up on my debrief sheet on theirs because they turned round after saying yes to I'll have to pay. I have other sheets on google docs with them all on which I have used for participants who have taken part through paper. I will add this forum on this one anyway 🙂

🙂And the other Diabetes-support.org.uk forum which has just given you permission to post
