The figures were from his original project as reported in the Lancet article. Vegetarian meals can't be low carb, they are high carb by definition. If it's not protein or fat it has to be carbohydrate.
Well I’ve read the book, read the BMJ report, the Lancet summary and watched his videos but still cannot find any evidence that Prof’ Taylor is in any way not interested in low carb or supports any other regime. He reports that after 2 years of whatever eating regime is followed the results are broadly the same. His research shows that any concerted approach to healthy dieting can lead to sufficient weight loss to gain the benefits.

Wow ! Eggs are vegetables ! That's big news.
As you well know, eggs are not vegetables and i never said they were. Nor was the earlier recipe comment only about vegetables. The recipes mentioned by Stickman are vegetarian.
Unlike vegans, vegetarians eat eggs and dairy products.
But, you can still eat low/no carb vegan food such as tofu and seitan which I mentioned plus nuts and seeds which I did not previously mention.
Not all vegetarian food nor all vegetables are high carb.

Anything I have ever heard over the last few years is Prof Taylor's '800 Calorie' diet rather than have a diet that keeps the weight down e.g. Low Carb. Perhaps I read the wrong newspapers and articles and have missed something?

Please read the book, £3.99 on kindle. He sets out the initial stage, the transitional stage and the maintenance stage.

As above, you have indeed missed most of it.
The entire point of the methodology is that once diabetes is reversed, there is no need for any specialist diet for life, eg low carb.
My preference is a straightforward Mediterranean style diet, but not in any rigid way.
The book is a good read to explain it.
