What's upfs?
UPFs are ultra-processed foods.
This is anything which has ingredients in which would not be found in a normal kitchen at home. There have been studies that the additives/chemicals in them can cause a lot of the metabolic disorders including diabetes that are present in society today.

The BBC did a programme about it a few weeks back - this is a link to the article about it.

Chris van Tulleken has released a book about it as well.

I'm usually a cynic about this sort of stuff, but if it helps me cut out hidden sugars and nasties and get my sugars under control, I'm all for it.

@Taffyboyslim , if I can't be bothered to prep cauliflower, more often than not, I just have more of the main event - the curry, chilli, bolognaise or whatever. To me, the rice element was really just a carrier for the good stuff.

As for cauli; have you tried seasoning it well? Like using the pilau seasoning for curry accompaniments, and I particularly like the mild curry seasonings for pretendy Kedgeree. Oh, and Pretendy Paella.

Once it is seasoned up, like the rice would be for the rice based variant, it tastes just the same.
Pilau seasoning ?

Are there any of these skinny low carb rice and pasta substitutes.......konjac ......in a potato form ?

I suppose like the old for mash get smash adverts from days of old ?

All the supermarkets and spice manufacturers seem to do a version, unless you want to do the fixing and fixing for yourself.

It takes away the cauli taste that can sometimes deflect flavours.

I tried the colly rice for tea tonight with chilli con carne with some basic mild curry powder stirred .......and I can live with that no worries
