Remifa non-invasive blood glucose monitor - scam

I got a backup duplicate to my nhs prescribed monitor via amazon...the monitor was fine, but the test strips it came with were rubbish. Maybe kept to long in the warehouse?

I purcased a 'Premium' glucose monitor from facebook and what was delivered was actually a pulse/oximetre unit. I was also charged £6 over the checkout price and delivery was 2 weks. If your going to buy one, may I advise you use Ebay or Amazon but never facebook.
I did the same. Wasn’t from FB but an advert on email. Similar, I ordered the Premium Glucose reader..and yes, I got the Pulse Oximeter too. The instructions are microscopic. There are no company inserts. All scammy rubbish.

I think this was a brand that was mentioned on here recently as a "non invasive" glucose monitor which is basically a scam, they do not work. You need something that draws blood.

Unfortunately, there has been a spate of social-media advertised unregulated non-invasive devices, none of which are fit for purpose I’m afraid :(

Diabetes UK put this response together after a number of enquiries:
  • There is currently no regulation for this technology to be tested for accuracy in the same way that glucose sensors (CGM and Flash) are.
  • Where accuracy data is available and from customer reviews, this technology does not currently provide accurate enough data (especially for anyone living with type 1 diabetes)
  • People should continue to use the blood glucose monitoring equipment supplied by their diabetes teams.
  • If an individual with type 2 diabetes is considering purchasing one as a guide, they should discuss this with their diabetes healthcare professional. We should also make them aware of this GOV.UK webpage - Know what you're buying! which has information to help people buy medicines and medical devices online safely. Please note – this is not an endorsement of buying medicines/medical devices online – it is information on what people should look out for and check when looking at these products online
  • We would not recommend purchasing as a gift for a friend with diabetes

Did you make your purchase via Credit Card? You may be able to get a refund from them?

I did this too. But ended up paying £35 for it as they added Handling charges, and shipping charges after paying guess it will have to go in the bin
