Hi All,
I am type1 and after being issued a 3year medical licence, wish to get C1 (up to 7.5 tonne) reinstated on my licence. This was on my licence previously. I have the D2 form, but need to provide 3 months of "data" for blood/glucose levels. I have been using the Libre monitoring app, but I believe this is not accepted. Please can you share with me how you got your C1 licence reinstated. Thanks in advance.

Hi @elmscroft the re-instatement of C1 (having passed my test back in 1972) I used to hold that entitlement this is something I would actually be interested in getting re-instated myself

obviously via LibraViev view the data is downloadable however most likely they won’t accept that 🙄
maybe somebody with a far better knowledge & experience than either you or I will be along to answer your question

Hello @elmscroft

Welcome to the forum.

For Group 2 vehicles I believe the only acceptable dataset is 3 months’ of at least 2x daily fingerstick checks (90 day meter download). As I understand it it has to be a minimum of twice a day, whether you are driving that day or not.

I’m a bit fuzzy on the terminology, but is C1 part of Group 2?

There was another thread about this recently here, and I’m pretty sure that was the conclusion:

See also this earlier thread:

Group C is best described as Non HGV , but Vehicles above 3.5 tonnes (which for drivers who had previously passed their test before a certain date ment we could drive 7.5 toners which some people refer to as “small lorries” could effectively be driven on the Car driving licence

Currect @goodybags - first husband regularly used to drive a 7.5 ton pick up truck as part of his employment from their premises in Birmingham to various places including Bournemouth and back when things were too unwieldy/heavy for their usual 15cwt delivery vans. He 'only' ever had a normal car licence plus his motorbike one. On the way back from Bournemouth he'd often be directed to pick up either fresh asparagus or plums etc from specific farms for Mr P the top bossman. As we used to go down to Studland Bay several times a year, he'd show me where they bought their produce from and he also knew precisely where all the easily accessible public loos and places to refill bladders/get food from and all the short cuts were. Now, completely out of date of course!
