Evening folks...

Reduced my basal from 18 to 12 as was waking at 3.7 3.9 4.1 etc etc thought I would have to tweak it up to 15 or something but it seems to be working 12, wakings from 5.9 to 6.4 on good days, so I'm leaving my new basal dose at 12 thankyou very much!

Right now the stupid question, but I never have a go at people asking stupid questions, so here goes.

Could it have affected my appetite at all? I seem to be much hungrier Wife wondered if it could be a reason, so I thought I would ask the super D brain (thats you lot!) I thought it was good to take less insulin if you can but don't really know much about D really! Enough to get by and maybe a smidging more.

The most likely answer is no your hungry because I don't get to sit down at home 10mins for dinner as busy dealing with decorating after work and son I think he's 5 months now teething is fun ain't it🙄😛

Cheers I hope's you is all well :D

Hi Rossi! As you may remember I have reduced my lantus considerably since diagnosis (actually to the point of zero since last April!), but I can't say it really affected my appetite much one way or another. I think conventional wisdom is that the more insulin you take, the hungrier you are likelier to be as you'd only get a whole load of insulin from a healthy pancreas if it was in response to a whole load of food, so if you inject a lot your body expects to have lots of food.

But clearly this is the opposite situation, so I would suspect the increased hunger is coincidental and due to other things going on, like child-wrangling 🙂
