Hello. I am a Masters student in Health Psychology at City University and I am looking for participants for my dissertation project investigating the relationship between diabetes self-care activities and various personal characteristics. It is hoped that the research findings will lead to improved health education in this area.

Participants should have TYPE 1 or TYPE 2 diabetes and be above 16 years of age without any serious mental illnesses.

During the project, you will be asked for basic information about you and will need to complete five short questionnaires which take about 30 minutes altogether. The questionnaires are dealing with diabetes related activities, how you cope with everyday situations, your beliefs about your ability to deal with novel or difficult situations and your feelings and dealings with other people. The questionnaires can be completed online or by post. The online questionnaire is available at the following links:

The nature of the project is confidential and anonymity is provided to all participants.
For more information please send me a PM.

Have you asked admin if your ok to post this ??
If so then good luck with your research

Can I just ask what you regard as mental illnesses, is depression one of those?

Thanks

That was fun.

Everyone I know thinks I'm barking, so I'm sure I've skewed the results.

😱

Steff I would not include the depression amongst the exclusion cathegories. Depression can't distort the results as much as like psychotic disorders (for example schizophrenia) or personality disorders.
Hope it helped you.

Smutmeister, I know you couln't skrew the results even you bark 🙂

All done and dusted. 🙂

Thanks - That question helped me too. I always presumed that depression was included in the "serious mental illness" or "must be mentally stable" perequisites
