Diagnosed two weeks ago. Have my first appointment tomorrow at a group session. Hopefully to get more information about diet. Not on any medication, just diet.

Hi Elaine, welcome to the forum 🙂 I hope the appointment goes well, let us know how you get on and if it raises any questions 🙂 It might be worth having a quick read of Jennifer's Advice and Maggie Davey's letter to help put you in the picture. There is a lot to take in at first, but hopefully we will be able to answer any of your questions and ease any concerns you may have.
Welcome Elaine 🙂. Just to say, though, there's no such thing as "mild diabetes". All types are serious if not managed well. Hope you find the information session useful, but do find out as much as you can - knowledge empowers you and helps you to stay healthy.
Welcome to the forum Irish Elaine. The key thing is to control your diabetes. You're right that diet plays an important part, but exercise / physical activity is also important. If you're overweight, then losing weight is important as well.
