Hi folks, just recently been told i've now become a member of the type 2 club, wow a true bolt out of the blue, will be back for advice on living with the condition in the near future, happy christmas everyone .

Hello and welcome. Would you be willing to share some information about how you came to be diagnosed, your HbA1c and any medications you are on? It would help us tailor our suggestions to you. Please feel free to ask any questions - we are a friendly bunch and have probably asked all the questions when we were first diagnosed. Happy Christmas to you too!

Welcome to the forum @awid

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. But hope you find comparing notes with the friendly folks here helpful.

Sounds like you didn’t have any symptoms, and weren’t expecting it?

If you would like a good overview of T2 diabetes, to add to the knowledge you’ve already picked up, you might want to register for an account with the Learning Zone (the orange tab in the main menu) which is packed full of informative bite-sized modules.

Additionally, for more personal accounts, members here frequently recommend Maggie Davey’s Letter to the Newly Diagnosed and Gretchen Becker’s book T2 Diabetes, the first year, which you can work through gradually and will give you a solid starting point.

Good luck, and let us know how you are getting on 🙂
