Hi there.

My DH (type 1) forgot to have his jag this am pre breakfast and as had no lunch
none all day. Reading above 30 alert now and he is feeling awful with back pain thrown in too - suspect kidneys - can anyone offer advice for the rest of the evening? He has just taken 24 units to try to reduce it but not in mood to eat or much else come to that. Guidance welcome

Thanks
Drouthy

Has he tested for ketones? I'd suggest testing regularly and if things don't improve then call NHS Direct - we can't give medical advice, I'm afraid. Now that he's had some insulin things ought to get better soon, hopefully - I'd be testing every half an hour. Hope he's feeling much better very soon!

Thanks Northerner. Appreciate your input but also understand you can't give medical advice - sorry - not thinking.🙂

Make sure he sips water as well to keep hydrated. Any doubts or getting worse call 999.

Ring NHS Direct 0845 4647 who can give advice over the phone

Good luck!
