I have developed small bruises around my injection sites. These bruises have pin prick marks as well. I always vary the injection sites around my upper abdomen. Any one else have this problem?.

I do hold the pen insitue for the count of 10. I only counted 5 this afternoon and still its bruised.

I sometimes get bruises, sometimes get blood spots as well and lumps. It doesn't seem quite so bad lately since I changed to a smaller needle, is that possible for you? do you just stick to the upper abdomen? have you tried your love handles? or the sides of your thighs?

Very thin needles, I was advised by the dsn to use upper abdo. I am seeing her again on thurs. They dont hurt.

I wouldn't worry too much about the bruises veganlass. I use to get them more often in the early days but seem to get them less frequently nowadays. It's usually because the needle passes through some of the tiny capillaries causing a little blood leakage, but it shouldn't be a problem. I tend to inject in my posterior these days as there is more real estate there 🙂 Needles can come in sizes ranging from 4 to 12 mm so it might be worth trying a different size 🙂

Iwas told not to rub the injection site right away, haven't done and no bruises.

I've had the odd bruise now and then but nothing major. I find they're less likely if I inject slowly (listen to the clicks) and don't rub.
