I have type 1. I think i am correct that guidance is to strictly social distance as opposed to isolate. I am choosing to only go for a walk keeping distance from others. No coffees and face to face chats. Do you think my husband should do the same. He is reluctant to miss his face to face contact. He is not using public transport. Maybe I'm being unreasonable?

I'm wondering the same. Mine has to go to work. He drives to and from work but has to mix with people at work every day in a factory environment. Also they do not get paid if they self isolate. Today one of his colleagues partner is sick but he still came to work. The company would not send him home as they would have had to pay him. He went home eventually but how many others are going to do the same, endangering workmates and their families.

My partner travels to and from work by bus, his workmate was sent home on Monday to self isolate, I'm still letting him spend over 4 hours on the sofa with me in the evening before he goes home to his own flat, he has asthma and he's fine about it all so xx

I am here at home facing my partner as she works from home also, she is social distancing to protect me and her father who has COPD. She is in good health. Surely with the evidence showing that if you have someone come in to your home who has been in the public domain will be therefore then putting you and themselves at risk.

If you are unwell with an illness like Diabetes this would mean that you are also at larger risk as the government guidelines have stated. Luckily my partner set boundaries and is able to work from home with her employer, for us it just is not worth risking.

I agree completely TomBrum but my partner doesn't have the option to work at home with his job. I don't know what to do.

OK, I am sorry I should have re-read the post you made - apologies again. Is he able to discuss this further with management and accept additional duties whilst this happens so that he can support you.

He has a good case for reasonable adjustments in the work place and would benefit from having a chat with his boss so that her or she understand the context, it would not hurt I feel.

I think this is an ongoing issue for a number of people across the country.

No probs Tom. I appreciate your response.

He is a precision engineer and cannot do the away from the work equipment. He was going to retire next month but the pensions have all crashed now so that won't be happening. It may be that I will have to move out for a while I think. It's not the best solution but it's better than losing my life. I am angry with myself that I let myself get so overweight and caused my diabetes.

Oops. Must learn how to use this properly! Thanks for the responses I see I'm not the only person to have these questions.

I'd never felt the need to join this forum but after I'd posted my query i felt my anxiety reduce ! As i live London area ( well edge i guess ) maybe some of my concerns might be addressed soon by further stricter measures
