Today my insulin has been increased, tonight when I went to bed all I've done is cough, drunk plenty of water and now got the hic cups, serious thou could it be the insulin,making my mouth dry and causing me to cough, hate to think its my asthma,which has decided to let me know it can raise its ugly head, to many hospital visits with my diebectese and asthma.

I wouldn’t have thought it would be due to the insulin. I hope it’s not due to your Asthma , fingers and everything else crossed for you. Unfortunately there are lots of cold and flu viruses doing the rounds atm.

Morning! I hope you are checking your blood sugars regularly. I have been on insulin for decades and apart from a slight reaction at the injection site from a once a day insulin around 1970 never noted ant side effects. After pretty steady Bags over Christmas I now am into mountains and valleys but think I have an underlying infection. Lots of bugs seem to be around at Christmas and probably will have more to do with absenteeism later this week than over indulgence! You probably are developing a cold but if worried get it checked out.

I haven’t ever heard of insulin being linked to coughs or dry throat @Viviennes - so I don’t think it will be related to your increased dose.

I would ask how high are your blood sugars?
Also if you are using inhalers would they cause your mouth/throat to be dry?
