World Diabetes Day is approaching soon, next week in fact, on 14th November.
For anyone whose not come across it before, its an international day, where millions of people raise awareness of Diabetes around the globe.

There will be lots happening and perhaps some of you will be doing something on the day to raise awareness yourselves.

For any social media fans out there, we're going to be holding a World Diabetes Day 'Thunderclap' on social media.

Which is what I hear you say?

Essentially, it is a social media flash mob, shouting out about diabetes together, with posts launching at the same time.

If you'd like to get involved, you can do here: https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/64122-worlddiabetesday

Does anyone else have plans to raise awareness? Maybe online or in your workplace?

Well, I'm wondering about raising awareness. I don't recall hearing anything about it. Although I do have mush for brains.
PS, I don't have a TV. I do listen to the radio, including the news

Our Duk group will be going to South Shields Town Hall. The council light it up in Blue. 5ish tomorrow nt, Mayor normally there too. 🙂

That's great! Send us a picture if you have one :D

Anyone else know of buildings going blue today?

I guess I'll read about it tomorrow night then.

There are ways to help in raising awareness of Diabetes on the site now, a lot of our focus is through social media and shouting about diabetes: https://www.diabetes.org.uk/get_involved/world-diabetes-day

We've also launched our 'Future of Diabetes' report at a Parliamentary event today, which many of you played a part in helping to create, through offering your thoughts about what the Future of Diabetes should look like.
