The chef on Saturday Kitchen was Celiac and advocated Quinoa as it's gluten free. According to the Collins Carb book it's also low in carbs (compared to rice and Pasta). Has anyone tried it?

Yes, tried it and liked it - but there's virtually no food I don't like. Easy to cook, but expensive to buy. A nice alternative to rice or cous cous.

Hi Vicsetter,

I have tried it - not nice. I didnt like the texture - but you may think its nice so give it a go.🙂Bev

What is it? always open to trying new foods, but I've neer heard of this ?

To me, taste of quinoa is similar to cous cous, but texture is different - quinoa can have a slight bite.

Plus, quinoa doesn't sound like a very cute South East Asian / Australian possum http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuscus although I did eat a bit of one when it was offered by a hunter on Indonesian island of Serum.
