Out of interest, do people with Type 1 get Metformin as part of their treatment.

Hi as far as I know ( being Type 1) I'm sure its no and it's just for Type 2's, who can have insulin as well. Sheena

OK, because I have heard on more than one occasion, that it's given to Type 1s in the States.

Sorry Sheena, but Type1 diabetics can and some do have Metformin as part of their treatment.

John.

I know of a few at my clinic who are on it, just means they need help with their resistance......

No need to be sorry John, I'm learning something, which is always a good thing. Sheena
