everyone in the house apart from me(yet) has got a sick bug it only seems to last 24hrs and he kids are struggleing to keep water down aswell if i get it i prob wont be able to eat anything would i still need to do my insulin the same, im on one slow release and 3 rapid with meals
thanks

I'd get in touch with your nurse of doctor for advice. It's often the case that blood sugar levels increase quite a lot with an infection, so more insulin is needed to cover the rises. Obviously, if you are not able to eat much there may be a trade off, but not necessarily as your slow-acting may need increasing as your body tries to fight off the infection. Hope you don't get it!

thanks will try and get hold of the nurse tommow . we are ment to be going camping saturday so im hoping everyone is well enough 🙂

Hope the weather is good for you and that you are all fighting fit! 🙂

I hope that you are all well for the weekend and that you don't get the bug. The nurse should be able to give you a printed sheet about diabetic sick day rules. You can also google this but make sure you use those from a hospital website,.

Definitely speak to your team. Illness affects us all differently. If you start to feel a bit sick, it might be worth eating a little before you inject just to make sure the food doesn't make you feel worse. I have had problems when I have eaten a meal whilst feeling a little sick, took my normal insulin but then couldn't keep it down so my blood sugars dropped rapidly. Hope you don't catch it and everyone gets better soon x
