Hi @gail2, here at Diabetes UK, we have three roles to support the running of the forum.

The Forum Hosts, make sure that everyone feels welcome and ensure that the people are getting quality, helpful responses. They don't have any extra permission settings and the role is voluntary.

The moderators fulfil the Host role but also have extra permissions to edit, delete, and move threads and posts. They manage any conflict and ensure users are following the user guidelines. This role is also voluntary.

Administrators have the permission settings, the same as moderators do, plus additional access to forum users' profile details, resolve technical problems and issue bans. At Diabetes UK, the administrators are paid staff. :star:
