oh and just to add - I had little one at 38+2 days and he was a healthy 7lb 12oz - chubby but cute and definitely not supersized!
 
Two of my daughters didn't have children until they were 35.
My wife was 40 when our fourth daughter was born. No problems.
Of course I don't know how diabetes affects conception, if at all.
 
I've been reading this with interest as I'm 31 and only just starting to consider trying. It's such an inspiration to read all you mums who had children later.
