Hi all, I'm currently on Metformin 1000 mg twice a day and still get nausea very often, fatigue and the sweats. A replacement to my normal GP has decided to try me on Stagid 700 mg. Any thoughts on this would be welcome. The names might be different as I'm in France but both are metformin molecules if I understood correctly.

Is it a slow release version of Metformin? Slow Release version can be better tolerate by some.

Does the stagid say “slow release” or “extended release” or any letters that might be short for that?

if it’s a slower release version and a lower dose then you should have less side effects

Not one I’d heard of, but I can’t see a mention of modified release on this page

Hope it suits you well @diddymai and that your nausea, fatigue and other unpleasant side effects subside.

Hi..no it's not slow release but 700 mg as opposed to 1000 mg.

Nope not slow release..I also checked the leaflet and its not even mentioned in the range. I have a feeling that slow relesase might not be even available in France

I would be surprised if they did not have slow release, as here in the UK there are a number of different brands of the slow release.
