I've been looking at some of the high protein/low carb bars on the market, but not really sure what I should watch out for. Has anyone tried them?

I only ever eat the Nature Valley Protein Bars they are rather tasty xx

Yes, I buy these too and they are rather lovely! They come in at about 9 carbs per bar.

I only eat the salted caramel and peanut & chocolate ones, I've never tried the coconut & almond ones xx

I like Graze Chaco & Vanilla protein bars! 😛 14g carbs per 30g square, 4 squares in a box! There are others too but, that’s the one I like! 🙂

They are tasty too, and make a bit of a change from the others.

I might have to give these a go and see how they affect my bg levels, as I usually allow myself a snack of around 10gs carb per day. Occasionally I have a bag of crisps at 13.3grams. But these bars sound quite nice. I am guessing they are available in all bad supermarkets.

Yes, I found them in B&M stores at a discount price but they are available in most supermarkets. They come in a box of 4.

I have checked out many of the Protein bars on the market and looked carefully at the contents - it can be a bit of a minefield as some bars have in excess of 24g carbs each!!! Apart from the rather nice Nature Valley bars mentioned above, there are new Trek Protein bars on the market with between 6-8g carbs and they are delicious - just don't confuse them with the older Trek bars, which are over 24g each!!! Most of the Protein Balls are also very high carb. I try to avoid any treat over 9g carb.

Another nice protein bar is the Nine Bar, 8g carb - available in supermarkets as well. Asda also did a nice own brand bar under 8g too.

I have a few protein bars in my bag for those "coffee shop" times when friends want to have coffee and a cake - at least I can have a bit of a treat then too!!
