I've been really struggling with my control for the last 5 months! Most readings have been 15mmol+ which has got me down and made me not want to test (the wrong way to think I know). Anyway, my Accu Chek meter needed new batterys so I went online n ordered them and saw I could order free record books too. Now I'm not one for writing my levels down as I was never in a routine before having imogen and my timings ever really fitted into the record book properly ie my breakfast n lunch were the same meal or too close together, but I thought I'd try it again as I've got a routine.

Well I've been writing them down in the book (which is much better laid out than the novo books I've been given by doc in the past, its not so squished) and I've already seen a MASSIVE improvement! I have had 4 readings above 10 in those 3 days which compared to before is amazing. Most of my levels have been 6-7 so I'm over the moon! I take 4 metformin a day, novorapid and levemir but I've worked out how much levemir I need and I'm carb counting. Just soo pleased I'm making progress. My levels aren't perfect but they're getting there 🙂

Xxx

Brilliant news Loubie! 🙂 I use those record books too, I think they are very good and agree that they are better than the novo books. Keep up the good work, it only takes a few seconds each time and can really help 🙂

I have my trusty spreadsheet for recording everything and wouldn't be without it, though there have been times when I didn't want to look at the results. It's a very useful record of my diabetic journey.

That's brilliant news. I bet you feel a lot better.
I do write everything down so I can also look back at it.
