Profile Posts and Private Messages

Just want to let people know the distinction between these two forms of message. Profile posts are not private and appear on the member profile for all to see - the latest 6 profile posts also appear in the sidebar on the main forum screen, so if you are wrtiting a message to someone that you wish to be confidential, don't use a profile post. I'd prefer not to have them at all since I don't think they serve any useful purpose here - maybe they do on other types of forum - however, they can't easily be removed.

If you want to send a private message to someone use the 'Inbox' button on the upper right of your screen. This will give you a list of any existing private message you may have - private messages are called 'conversations' now. If you want to send a new private message to someone then select 'Start a new conversation' button 🙂
