Prescribed Mounjaro

A slice of wholemeal bread is 15g carbs and a glass of milk about another 10g carbs so you are having way more than you need to treat it. This means that your own body has to produce more insulin to deal with the glucose from those extra carbs and that will thwart you losing weight which presumably is part of the reason for the Mounjaro and not help your insulin resistance.
Try to be a bit more disciplined with it. Just sit and sip a small glass of milk or have a cup of tea or coffee with the milk in it instead without the bread.
 
My Mounjaro has arrived just today. Unfortunately not on prescription as my HbA1c is 37. I'm using it purely for weight loss, which it cannot be prescribed for sadly. I have however had to come off my prescription Sitagliptin to avoid unnecessary hypos.

I'm assuming you have been prescribed a 'starter' dose to help your body get used to the medication? From my research, Mounjaro has the best results with the least side effects which is why I've gone for it, despite it being the most expensive!!

Good luck with your journey - I plan on having my first injection on Friday I think.
 
Hi All.
I have been prescribed Mounjaro and tbh am a bit nervous about taking it. I will have my first injection after work today so will see what happens. Think I've read too many horror stories. My Hba1c is 88 so I definitely need to get it sorted. Is there any advice / tips on what I can expect and the best way to maximise its usefulness ?

Definitley less of the false Hypos now as I am in my second week. Strangely I do feel hungry I am noticing. Wondering if it is still some residual false Hypo symptoms, or that 2.5mg is just a starter dose and I have adapted to it quickly.
before my first injection my time in range according to my Libre, was 2%. ( I know right ). Currently showing 82%. i am taking that as a WIN. Like I said starting to feel hunger but not giving in to it.
