Thank you. Yes, I appreciate it isn’t high, just increasing. The GP referred to me the diabetics programme as “someone at high risk of developing type 2” I’m not sure if that was to scare me into action. GP has said to lower my blood sugars and cholesterol through long-term diet changes and exercise (which I’m told also will lower my high blood pressure).Your HbA1c isn’t “high”. Yes it’s higher than ideal perhaps but it’s not high.
Breathe.
Let the medicos do their thing and tell you what’s going on. Then look at any dietary recommendations.
Better than my story.Thank you. Yes, I appreciate it isn’t, just increasing. The plan is to drop the excess weight over the next 2 to 3 months, and then maintain a healthier life style from here on - yep, I know I should have done that before, but catching it earlier is a blessing.
Actually it was very manageable as many of the things he was supposed not to have we didn't have anyway because I am doing low carb.Thank you, looking at this diet fills me with dread - I’m wondering how to do low carb but low residue / low fibre dieting. It looks like one almost a counteracts the other.
That's ridiculous! I can't imagine how annoyed I would have been ...Better than my story.
I was told “well of course it’s like that because of your diabetes”.
I’d not actually been told I had diabetes and had had it for a number of years. The doctor just forgot to tell me.
Well I wasn’t best pleased.That's ridiculous! I can't imagine how annoyed I would have been ...
That is terrible. I found out I had prediabetes with a text message from the GP for a medication review. I called to say I am not on any medication, and they said ”Oh, it’s needed because you have been identified as someone at high risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, as you are prediabetic“.Better than my story.
