Leastways for me.

Since May, I took back control of my life, my diabetes was so out of control, in part due to the stress of caring for my Dad plus my really eating habits during 6 very stressful months whilst Dad was in hospital - I took a long look at myself.

Dad, as you probably know, passed away in July.

In the last 4 and a half months, I have lost over 4 stone (still a zillion to go) and insulin dropped from a ridiculous 150 units of insulin a daily to now around 42 a day and still falling.

My Hba1c has dropped from a horrible 11.7% to 6.2% and is still falling.

My goal, for the next 12 months is to be
completely insulin free - now wouldn't that be great?

Now I do not post this for gold stars, but to encourage other T2s, you CAN help yourself, make small changes - baby steps.

I will never be a Twiggy, or an athlete - but at least be healthier - i hope.

Well done with the progress, an inspiration!!!

I know you didn't want one but for that you're having one.

Bless you x

Absolutely brilliant effort, Hazel, you should be glowing with pride. You've got another 6 months to go before the East Kibride May Queen parade - you can do it 🙂

Wow Hazel, that's absolutely fantastic! Well done indeed 🙂

It is good to hear when progress is made. Being under that 6.5% line is an important result.

Andy 🙂

As an aside, it looks entirely appropriate that your post sits above above poor Chilis "God awful week" in the listing. Such is diabetic life...

Wow!! Fantastic work, Hazel! Proud of you 🙂

We're all proud of you Hazel...and your daddy would be proud of you too. 🙂

That's amazing Hazel, brilliant work and a really positive boost for anyone else who might find themselves feeling the same way 🙂

Hazel my lovely none of us are Twiggy or athletes we are all just muddling along the best way that we can. I think though that if we could all achieve such mind blowing results particularly after the terrible time you have had with the very sad loss of your dad then we would be doing metaphorical somersaults.i I know that I personally would. You have moved mountains and are continuing to do so which I know is through sheer graft and hard work. Power to you young lady xXx 🙂
.

What fantastic results Hazel. Very well done 🙂

I dont want to give you a gold star Hazel, so you can have a sparkley any colour star you want !!! Whatever colour you choose you have earned it. X

Fantastic results Hazel, well done and keep up the good work.

Hazel...wow...what an achievement...and so soon after losing your father...I have no doubt that would have made him so proud...had a rocky start to today...just reading your post has given me a real boost...and renewed my determination to get those numbers down...thank you so much...a real inspiration.
