So I just ate a whole pomegranate for breakfast which felt hugely indulgent. I’ve been worried about fibre intake and read that counting net carbs ie carbs that come with lots of fibre count less so felt that pomegranate seeds would be good on a Keto diet. What do you lovely forumers think?

I don't care much about keto but poemgranate arils are double-plus yummy and I have some in a salad most days.

From what I see about pomegranate seeds there are almost 12g carbs per 100g product so that's quite a lot when you compare it to the likes of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries etc, none of that 12g is fibre either as in the UK the fibre is already deducted on the nutrition labels

It's not what we think that matters, it's how your BG reacts that matters
xx

100g would be a lot; I normally have around 20-30g. Don't need many to add some zing 🙂

Not sure where you are getting your carb info, but as @Kaylz says, it’s worth bearing in mind that the US and UK publish the information slightly differently.

In the US the carb value includes fibre that you cannot digest, so you need to subtract the fibre part to get an accurate carb value.

In the UK this subtraction has already been done for you, and the carbs listed are already ‘net carbs’, the fibre doesn’t need to be subtracted again. 🙂
