I am so hungry today, I woke up really hungry and have been ever since, it has been a tough job resisting the sweet chili crisps on the snack table at work.

I literally feel like I could just eat anything and everything today. Was good and had yogurt and berries for breakfast, but felt hungry within 2 hours which is unusual. Had chicken and veg stir-fry at lunch, hungry after an hour or so. Drinking loads of water to try and take my mind off of it, but it is not working.

BG was high at 14 again today, usually around 11, just can't seem to get it consistently under 11, so I am thinking that may be the reason.

Anyway just wanted to get it out there to stop myself driving head first into the crisps.

My go-to when feeling hungry is a nice mug of coffee, I have a great travel mug which keeps the coffee hot for hours....

I have to go low carb to stop me feeling hungry. I'm always hungry if I don't. I glug a bottle of water to stave off the hunger pangs.

I've had one of those days today just constantly starving, I did cave in and have a single Digestive biscuit this afternoon but it did'nt help, I felt like I could eat the whole packet but resisted luckily.

I know what you mean, Lorraine, and its horrible because it doesnt matter how much you eat you STILL feel ravenous. I have less of those days now that I am low-carbing and I make sure I include some fats with my meals and that seems to help a lot. How about a coffee with some cream in it? Well done for resisting the crisps, hope tomorrow is better.

I try and work on the basis that feeling hungry is a good thing. It means that whatever I am doing is working!!

Andy 🙂

I thought it was me! As mentioned here I found that there were a handful of things that really help me. I have become addicted to Cashew nuts. I buy them in Lidl "loose." I have on a working day six little round plastic pots of stuff that I use to graze. One has a home made soup in only about three spoons. One nuts, one cold chicken with a sauce or similar. I drink decaf coffee and have full on cream in it. So what! I find blueberries OK. For meals I found using Kale or Watercress brilliant because I find I can eat a whole field without any problems. I have also lost about 18lb in six weeks eating MORe than I did pre-diagnosis. Oh I forgot to mention one of my recent fetish. Raspberries, Blueberries and a dollop of clotted cream.!

Thank goodness with the cashews! I am addicted too. I daren't go in Aldi, you get a big bag for next to nothing. I buy the little container of two hard boiled eggs with spinach leaves (99p) and pour the cashews in....nom nom nom...bliss. Cashews are too high carb for me at the minute and the only nut I want to eat. I'd be better off with walnuts or whatever.

I think for me it is slightly mind over matter, as I more hungry at work on the days there are biscuits, cakes etc on the table at work, which is in my eye line unfortunately. The other day a colleague who is pre-diebetic so cutting out all sweet things gave me fruit with a note of my desk saying to help resist the snack table, which I thought was lovely.

I know I need to follow a low carb diet but all of a sudden I am struggling with that, so going back to the one step at a time approach. Berries and yogurt for breakfast, a lunch with a small amount of carb, and an evening meal with a small amount of carb, then I will cut the carbs out at one of the meals at a time, so I know it will take me about 3 weeks to a month to get back fully on track.

I am also addicted to cashew nuts. Well done on your weight loss that is fantastic. I also love berries.

That is a good idea. I don't snack on nuts as i know i could not stick to a few.

Sounds like a good plan. I always think it's a lot harder for anyone going out of the house to work when they are trying to follow a diet because there is always so much temptation around at the office or out on the road. Being virtually housebound, I can control my environment by having nothing contraband in the house to tempt me and I can't just nip to the shop for something naughty (every cloud lol) which makes it easier for me to be good - not sure I would have been able to resist if I were in your shoes! So I think you are doing well. Are you able to have some fat in your diet? That might help to make you feel less hungry, esp when you do get your carbs low again. Good luck with reducing carbs.

I too am struggling at the moment .. Feeling hungry and deprived however I think I have put weight on and that my friends has pulled me up short and made me determined to get back on it ! Fingers crossed that this is not the slippery slope x
