Please help

Fruits such as tomatoes, cucumber, avocado or courgette still count as fruits - the joys of a BSc eh?
If eating breakfast, I find that three eggs, some grated cheese and a finely sliced tomato make great scrambled eggs and in very little time.

I was diagnosed during the pandemic, I thought I had some problems as was always thirsty and craving sugary drinks.
I am a mature adult, a bit overweight. There is some unclear family history of diabetes.
I know I can get my scores down but find it hard to monitor to food and carbs when those around me don't have to.
I have begun to drastically remove carbs from my diet, hopefully this will help.
Just chatting to others is helping.
Thanks all

I would worry about @NorthernLass27 adopting a breakfast like that while still on her current meds. There are so few carbs in that, it would increase risk of hypoglycaemia as the meds would have nothing to ‘work on’.

As others have said, more gradual / staged reductions of carb intake would be safer I think? Eg swapping the banana for berries… and then swapping the shredded wheat minis for a sprinkle of granola to add the texture / crunch to the yoghurt while gradually reducing the total carbs involved. Then keeping a check on levels to see where the balance is between meds and menu 🙂

Oh drat - my apologies, I never spotted the medication list mid message 13, I just responded to the request for breakfast ideas on low carb.
Even a big salad tomato would be no more than 10gm of carb - even the ones I grow down here on the south facing house wall on the Dorset coast. A big drop from cereal and banana.

Bananas are more starchy and I do still have them sometimes, but never a whole one at a time. Berries are recommended in preference to banana, pineapple and mango, but I don't think it would hurt to have from time to time.
