Just need some adive/help please

My niece has just been told she has chickenpox contagious stage
I have never had chicken pox and I have type 2 diabetes I'm not sure if that will effect it.
I've spent most eve with my niece am just a little worried

Hi Plymgirl, welcome to the forum 🙂 Sorry to hear about your niece, I hope she recovers quickly. Illness can affect people with diabetes, often it will cause your blood glucose levels to be higher than normal whilst your body fights off the infection, but should return to normal as you recover. Being a little on the high side for a few days shouldn't have much, if any, impact on your overall health. Are you on any medication for your diabetes, and are you able to test your blood at home with a meter?
