Sorry haven't been round much lately and havent caught up with all the posts- hope everyone doing OK 🙂

Just to let you all know we are travelling to Southampton tomorrow for K's first cataract operation which will be on Tuesday. She has to be there two nights as it is an early morning operation because of diabetes/fasting etc. Then the surgeon likes to see patients 24 hours after - as we are a long way from hospital they are keeping her in to make this easier for us. So we will be home sometime Wednesday we hope.

Have not met with Endo. yet so they have not said what they want to do about her Levemir - I'm thinking reducing by one unit for Monday night just be be sure of no hypo overnight?? Difficult to know as excitement makes her less insulin resistant but stress raises her sugars, plus she is I think just starting another growth spurt - we have just increased Levimir by another unit on 'normal' days.

Anyway will keep you all updated when we get back - am anticipating loosing several pounds in weight myself as they don't really feed parents and anyway I will have no appetite - K however is looking forward to hospital food - the canteen at Southampton quite nice (not as good as Poole though)🙄

Take care everyone Xx

Hi, will of course keep my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly 🙂 Southampton General have a very good diabetes team, so it's worth asking to speak to a member of the team if you have any concerns about K's insulin 🙂

Wow, that seems to have come round quickly. Very much keeping fingers crossed for K, she deserves some luck bless her. Thinking of you both, it must be horribly stressful for you as Mum, but it sounds like K is bright and I am sure it will all be worth it in a few days. It's only going to rain for the next few days so you won't be missing much!

Sending loads of love and luck to both of you and looking forward to hearing some good news in a few days.

Love Tina xxx

Everything crossed for you! Hope all goes well. Katie

Keeping everything crossed for both of you. It will be fantastic when she can see out of the first eye that is operated on x

Hope all goes well for you and K. Take care. x 🙂

Bless you both, I remember how I felt a few months ago! I found audiobooks a real sanity saver post-op, if K is into any particular author maybe that would help keep her occupied before / after? I will certainly be keeping everything crossed for you both, & you will be in my thoughts & prayers. Have safe journeys there & back, may the staff be kind, efficient & caring, may K's op go really well & be 100% successful & may you both feel calm, safe & peaceful about it all. ...oh, & may the food be plentiful & yummy for both of you! 😉

Take care, we're all rooting for you & K. Xxx

Fingers and toes crossed for K and hope her mean mum isn't to stressed eather.

Everything crossed for you MM and K - hope for a good op and speedy recovery.

Hoping all goes well today and that you DO get a good night's sleep when the tension wears off. Hope K gets a good result from her op. I hear it's extremely successful and hope to hear you also say this when you are next able to bring us up-to-date with things. Sending all positive vibes and good wishes your way.

Just to say we're thinking of you - hoping you're both settled & comfortable tonight & tomorrow's op goes well. All the best! 🙂 Xxx
