Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi new to this forum also recently diagnosed with type 2. I am a little concerned that I have started to get pins and needles in both legs and a slight burning sensation. Would this be a diabetic symptom or something else. Also the same in hands. Thanks for any help or advice.

It could be the glucose being re absorbed into your blood from your tissue. Just a weird theory I have

Hi, this sounds like peripheral neuropathy to me. Nerves can become damaged by high levels of glucose circulating in your blood stream. The symptoms will improve if you reduce your sugar levels. It can be especially troublesome at night, as your your body naturally produces extra glucose in the evening to avoid you having a hypo during the night. Suggest you speak to your diabetic nurse who can test your legs/feet for neuropathy. Good luck.
