Sorry this is proving to be such a faff for everyone.

@grovesy Do you get the ‘choose image size’ link on your tablet? This is what I see on iOS.

Im not sure where the file size limit is held, but will check with the forum architect to see if this limit is intentional, or just a new ‘default’, and whether the forum software can be made to do the necessary resizing in the background.

I’ve tried to attach the photos, I reduced the size to small and it downloaded them, great, but they are on their sides! Any ideas how to fix that, they are definitely not on their sides on my iPad.

Ive had that with iOS. I just edited the pictures and span them around which seemed to fix it.

The technology is out to get us!!

Just tried that. I am so not techy! Going for a lie down with a wet flannel. At least I’ve got the size right!

I think sometimes with my ‘I’ devices it depends on how the accelerometer *thinks* I am holding it when I take the picture.

Sometimes Ive needed to save it ‘wrong’, then resave it the right way to clear the earlier value. Or something!

Not 100% certain what that means, but I tried turning them around, saved it then reverted it back to original but it has still uploaded them sideways! I’ve left them and folks will have to turn their devices around! It has really messed with my OCD though! 😱

I could only get my garden photo to display sideways, until I emailed it to myself, and the one that had gone through the ether then displayed right way up! We used to have this problem all the time on our village website, pictures in adverts would always randomly display wrong way up or sideways, until the website was redone, and now there doesn’t seem to be an issue (or all the advertisers have worked out how to do it)

Trying again with a snap of my damp dog.

Trying @Eddy Edson’s screenshot technique, but I get a refusal on the screenshot version (png) where I don’t with the original photo (jpg)

Im using the ‘small’ resize option on the JPEG. File size went from 2.2mb to 40kb

it’s flipped it for me too @eggyg

Full size pic (2.2mb) was rejected.EC85C292-086A-46D3-935D-6B7EB10D264D.jpeg

Even uploading a 180-degree rotated picture still arrives on the forum upside down. Which is odd!

A bit tricky with my 21" monitor 😱 I've had to call the pictures up, take photos on my phone of them, and then change the phone round.

No I haven't, I'm only joking! :D

Thank goodness it wasn’t just me. Yet the photos I put on a couple of days ago were fine. Very strange.

I have just managed to post the picture used a photo app on Laptop , but won't be doing again as not right way up and lost count of attempts it took.

I believe the size of picture is over 6 meg.
It's quite possibly that. One of the problems of dogital images is file size. I consider 6mb, for uploading.

I used Windows 10, it was on the side bar called Photos and gave me the option to resize and suggestions for various situations. I choose the one for forums.

I have used both phone and camera, but I then upload to my computer to store the image and post the image here from my PC (win 10)

OK, that was a good job resizing the image. In Photos there is a button that lets you rotate the image. Close Photos app when you have finished with your image and that's it. But click your image again and view it again in photos just to make sure it is the right way up.

Then upload it and check it out as a preview on the forum. (Using the preview button)

Certainly something odd going on @Benny G

If I use the (correctly orientated) full size image and use the forum’s resizing tools it gets rotated 180 degrees. But if I resize the image on my tablet first and simply upload it, it comes out fine.

I have looked on the Media Album page and the upload limit is definitely 2 meg per image (not 10 meg as the label suggests.) I cannot find any tools there for resizing images. Is that where your image was rotated?

I do not use IOS, I usually use my android phone or tablet.
Maybe an issue with IOS?

I haven’t looked at the media section. I am only experimenting with the picture upload buttons on the toolbar for creating posts to try to help others having problems. It isn’t something I’ve seen before.

I think some people are seeing rotation happen on Android too, so I don’t think it’s specific to iOS.

That's the sort thing I was talking about before. Implementation of the orientation bit & processing by some websites.
What your app produces suites the forum better. Maybe it rotates right way round, then resets the picture info.
