Along with everyone else Ive been trying to have a normal as possible existence during the current situation, my wife and daughter generally get most of our shopping. The big issue was me going to the chemists, who whilst have a one way system inside with lines to create a 2 m gap have nothing in the street. Queuing in torrential rain for 45 minutes with a load of ill people coughing and sneezing was the last straw.

i cannot remember who told me about Pharmacy2U, but I’m now fully online with my repeat prescriptions and a week after I used the Systmonline everything arrived.

As a diabetic my prescriptions are free, there is no delivery cost, I just cannot believe I didn’t sign up when I first heard of it, which I think was a couple of years ago.

I have nothing to do with them and there maybe other similar systems which are more suited to you, but for me personally this is a CV19 positive.

Well you appear to lucky, I have not heard many positive things about them.

I am just waiting for my first order from them so I’ll let you know how it goes !!

I’ve had three deliveries from them, all arrived at the requested and confirmed date, unlike the two chemists we were using, who were unable to supply from stock or several times when they suggested the drugs would be ready.

As I said in the first post there may well be others providing the same service. Im yet to be disappointed by them and I received emails reminding me to organise my repeat.

I just googled online pharmacy and there are eight other companies on the first page, so plenty of choice and a great opportunity to avoid mixing with so many poorly folk.

I signed up with Lloyds Echo system recently, and have had one delivery so far, which arrived promptly and everything was in order, so happy for now with that 🙂 Like you, I had no desire to go anywhere near anywhere 'medical' whilst this thing is going on! 🙂 I expect I'll revert to collecting them myself when things are safe 🙂

Lloyds closed a branch in the city, which meant our local branch of Lloyd’s has been swamped, long before CV19. But we had no choice but to use them once the travel restrictions were imposed instead of the much better independent a few miles away.

Except for unplanned prescriptions, i won’t be going back into Lloyd’s, the postman brings it to my door.

I had previously used Tesco and Boots and they kept ordering incorrectly and prescriptions were taking 2 weeks

My local Lloyds is very good - like all these things, I imagine services vary from the very good to the very poor 🙄

I've only heard bad reports of the p2u,am curious to know how you get your prescriptions if theirs a postal strike? I certainly would not use them for insulin delivery either as no idea what condition it would be in by the time it arrived.

My insulin from Lloyds was packed in bubble wrap with two frozen gel packs and the gel packs were wrapped in a a wool insulator. The gel packs were still partially frozen when the postie delivered them, so I'm pretty confident it will be OK 🙂 Certainly a good point about a possible postal strike! :( As I said, I will go back to collecting my prescriptions once I feel it's safe to do so, but I think getting it delivered was the best option for the stuff I need right now 🙂

My insulin from pharmacy2u was packed just the same as Northerners, bubble wrap with frozen gel packs, which were wrapped in a a wool insulator. Possibly this is an NHS requirement, I don’t know.

If there was a postal strike, I can change back to the chemist, but I’m sure the sender would change to a courier. Whilst our local Lloyd’s is staffed with friendly, helpful people they are so overwhelmed it’s impossible to get a reliable service. The added bonus is I’m not in line with lots of other poorly people.

if it is so important for diabetics and others to be extra vigilant at this time, and I’m not suggesting it isn’t, adopting a process which helps avoiding contact with potential carriers is surely a good thing. It might make sense to make postal delivery of prescriptions to those in the at risk catergory the default or even compulsory.

In our village there are several kind people collecting prescriptions for those who are isolating, but of course putting themselves at a higher risk. The postie is already coming to your house so no increased risk for anyone.

I have up on Boots years ago and a few attempts with Lloyds were not much better. Boots have just lit the plot and Lloyds getting in bed with Sainsbury's was a mistake.

In addition to Boots we have three independents. I have stuck with the same one for over a decade as he is very helpful with advice. The other two seem to see you as a cash cow! At the start there was s bit of a queueing problem but this seemed caused by idiots who couldn't understand s notice saying "Sorry no sanitiser or masks"! Why queue for 30 minutes to be told "No sanitiser means we haven't got any".

A friend used Pharmacy2u and ran out of medication during the "Beast from the East". The advantage of your local pharmacist is they are allowed to advance you 5 days worth of medication in case if difficulty but they cannot if you do not use them.for repeats. Also the advice from government is to ask your pharmacist for advice for minor issues. This will not be available if everybody goes on line!

In my opinion the online suppliers are only really suitable for those of us who have repeats, I have been on the same eight drugs for a number of year, because I travel for work I get eight weeks of drugs at a time. Before the online system it involved four car journeys, Drs to drop in the repeat, 2/3 days later drs to pick up repeat, chemists to drop off, up to a week later chemists to collect.

I now logon, click which items I need, a week later it arrives, Pharmacy2U even remind me when to do it.

Better for me, better for my wife the environment and I'm not causing the queue at Lloyd’s to be even longer, meaning everyone else is getting a better more efficient service at the chemists.

My relatively complicated health condition means it’s unlikely the Chemist would be any help, the GPs can process my repeat at their convenience.

Clearly it’s not for everyone, as this thread shows, but if you are time poor, ill, dependant on others, or just don’t like queuing it’s a great system and for most on here free !

Well I order my repeat from my GP online and have done for a few years. It is sent to my local independent Pharmacy electronically, and is ready in a few days later.

I just wish this worked in Wales. We don't have a service like this, unfortunately.
