does anyone know anything about peeing all the time .when I was first diagnosed a year didn't have any major symptoms now I am constantly peeing
and its not a little its loads I go about 10 times in the morning
type 7.1 8.1 8.1:

Frequent urination is a very common sign of high blood sugars. Do you test yourself? I currently have very high levels and I know I go constantly even waking up 2-3 times in the middle of the night!

re peeing

oh thanks so much for that am going to have to try harder to kick the choki

The likelihood is that you are running high blood glucose levels and as Rosiecarmel says, that can cause frequent urination. In order to get things under control you need more information though. When you test, do you test before and after meals or just at particular times?

I think, to give yourself a shock, you should test before eating anything you shouldn't (but I'd rather say "not to excess") and then test 1, 2 and perhaps 3 hours after. That will tell you how your body can cope. The possibility is that you will be going mid to high teens (and perhaps even higher). If that is the case then you need to cut down on that carb or stop it altogether.

If things don't improve, though, go and see you Gp. Don't just let things roll on. Also, bear in mind that it may have nothing to do with your BG levels.

I really think that level of testing would be excessive, especially for a non-insulin dependent diabetic. With 3 meals a day you're talking about at least 12 tests a day.

If your glucose levels are around 7-8 and you're suddenly urinating much more, I think you need to see your GP. Going 10 times in a morning is beyond frequent, and there are many different causes. None of us are medically aualified and if something changes that you're worried about I would speak to your doctor.

I hope that calms down soon!

My BG levels are ridiculously high (always over 17 and most of the time in the 20's). I dont get the constant peeing thing at all! I usually test twice a day. Once in the morning before eating anything and once in the evening about an hour and a half to 2 hours after eating. Very rarely do I need to get up during the night, only if ive had a cup of tea before bed. I think I must be one of the lucky ones.

I think you must be!! I get up 2-3 times usually. Some nights I only get up once but the second my alarm goes off I jump out of bed and run to the bathroom! I do drink a lot though as Im constantly thirsty

Just to clarify, I did not suggest testing for every meal each day, every day. That would be excessive.

Indeed, when I tested, I only tested once per day at different times. So long as I was within certain ranges depending on the timing of the reading, I was happy.

I don't mean to sound negative, but if your blood sugars are in the 20s most of the time, you sure aren't going to be one of the lucky ones for much longer and I'm not talking about whether you need to pee a lot.

Those numbers are 'medical emergency' high. You need to see a doctor ASAP.

Ive only just been diagnosed. Ive been taking medication for just over 2 weeks, I have a follow up appointment next week. Im not too worried about them being that high at the moment as they are lower than when I found out!

Ah, ok! Fair enough, it does take a few weeks for some medications to 'bed in'. You might be able to help speed up the process though depending on your diet - cutting back on carbohydrates is probably the most effective way of managing T2 diabetes particularly when combined with medication.
