Should I carb count for peas? I did do a very short carb counting course last year and the dietician said we didn't need to count for veg except for potatoes, but they do have carbs in them so not sure. Same for carrots and other veg really, not sure again.

Peas I would, but I count all veg actually, only because my serving of vegetables tends to be quite near 5g carbs and for tea that's a half unit of insulin for me xx

On my DAFNE course I was told no to peas, even mushy which was a surprise. This is because they are almost all fibre. Infact I don’t inject for any veg anymore as I am insulin sensitive. I used to count peas and things like lentils, chick peas, kidney beans but don’t now. It may be a coincidence but my hypos have reduced significantly. Of course everyone is different and so I would test a bit more if you intend to inject for them.

Yes this was what I was told as they have fibre. They were only three carbs anyway in the end

I don't count anything at all for 99% of veg, but spuds obviously and parsnips I need to. We are all different so just have to find out ourselves what our tolerance for anything we eat, happens to be.

I measure out my peas, so I always have a set amount. I count in as much as I like to make sure I'm not having too many, but I don't worry hugely about the carbs in veg as they're important to eat. Only exceptions are sweetcorn and parsnips.
