Ok since becoming pregnant I've found that my body can eat pasta and rice again without the highs for hours afterwards yay! Anyway so last night i fancied some pasta (dried) and some sauce.
So I look up the carb content in the collins gem book thing and it said 18g of carb per 100g. I thought that seemed awfully low. Means i'd only need 3.6 units of insulin for 200g. So I looked on the packet of the pasta and it says 36g of carb per 100g. Talk about a huge difference! I double checked the book and it def says cooked pasta, as does the packet. It was penne pasta dried.
Anyway i erred on the side of caution and used the packet measurements and lo and behold I was under 6 all night.
I can't believe it can be so off. In the book it says, Dried pasta, any type, per 100g. Don't feel I can trust this book now.
