Hi everyone, I am a Health Psychology MSc student at Liverpool John Moores University studying self-management of type 2 diabetes and possible support interventions. I am looking to hold a series of online group workshops with 3-4 people to gain insight of your experiences and opinions of self-management and of a possible support intervention. Workshops will take place on Zoom and should last around 1 hour. They will be recorded so that the information can be used for analysis, however all information will be kept confidential, and no personal details will be taken so that the information you give cannot be identified with you.

This research study has been granted ethical approval by the Liverpool John Moores Psychology committee. Participation in this research study is entirely voluntary.

Please see the poster attached for more information about this study.

HELP STILL NEEDED. I am looking for more people with T2D to take part in an online workshop to discuss their experiences of self-management and their opinions of a new support programme. Your insight will be extremely beneficial for future development of the support of diabetes. Click the link or email a.l.vicars@2021.ljmu.ac.uk.

I participated in one of @Amy888 's online workshops and found it quite stimulating. I had expected to be merely sharing information about how I managed my diabetes but found we got into interesting discussions. So I learnt things from it as well as providing my the benefit of my own experience. I would recommend it to others - it's not at all onerous, and you may gain from it.
Our workshop featured people who self-managed without medication - I think her research would benefit from some participants who require to use medication as well as those that currently don't.

I was in the workshop with NIck and Amy, and it was very refreshing to hear another diabetic talk about controlling their diabetes. This workshop would definitely help those who need a bit of support with managing diet and medicine, and making other informed choices benficial to their health. I know from my own experience when I was a newbie, that information can confuse the hell out of you, as it is often so contradictory. This workshop ultimately aims as directing people in the right way to deal with this disease independently.
