Ignoring it for the first year ever. It sucks. I do enjoy pancakes with golden syrup

Good dicipline merry but you are being very naughty mentioning pancakes because the taste of pancakes with sugar and a big squeeze of lemon immediately came to me.

I hate being diabetic...just saying.

I'm awfully sorry but golden syrup is not on my list except if at the bottom of a baked sponge pud and served with custard. Even as a non diabetic child I always preferred sugar and lemon (and even then when I'd happily lick the spoon after mom had been using some in a recipe it would always have been too sweet on a pancake) - more than a squirt of lemon with my pancakes - just as well really as my mom didn't offer any other accompaniment - and I've never had to, either.

I just have less sugar and always have to have caster sugar, otherwise it doesn't dissolve in the lemon juice - plus less goes further than granulated.

Lemon and sugar here all the way too, but I'm not indulging today either. Mine never taste as good as my mum's did and my daughters only like American style pancakes 🙄

I’ve never mde American style ones. Only our traditional ones. I don’t think I can eat much of anything today since I’m having a high level wobble day.

Just about to tuck into mine with butter and lemon on one, chocolate spread in the next.
(Oh and a bit of extra insulin). Somethings are not to be missed.

I had a little bag of maltesers last night and suffered the consequences this morning with a nice high waking reading. I daren’t risk it. I love golden syrup on mine which would be a disaster. We have no lemon juice either. Oh well. Maybe another time.

Think how much you will enjoy them next year!!

Oooops.

Having two was not such a good idea!!
Serves me right for a disturbed night getting levels back in check, especially as I am relying on an aviva Expert for insulin counts as my pump handset has to be replaced, and it keeps rounding down to a half unit)

Next time I will listen to you @merrymunky and resist, or probably not....

Bless you!😛

Did you enjoy them though?

Well once a year will not wreck your future I'm absolutely certain so don't stress.

Maltesers, bite all the chocolate off right down to the crispy centre, bliss. Far better than any pancake
That’s exactly that I did. I eat them as slowly as I can. Nibble the chocolate off then let the honeycomb centre melt in the mouth.
