I'll be trying it, I have some overripe bananas in the freezer, I was saving for banana bread, but they'll go into pancakes instead now.
Ripe bananas no good Travellor it has to be unripe ones or nearly like that the ripe ones as Drummer has said are too rich
and will spike the bloods

@Olive to be fair many find bananas un tolerable at any stage of ripeness, no matter what stage they are at they will still have an impact on BG just at a different rate xx

What a fuss over this I was just replying to different ideas for pancakes wish I
hadn't commented now I thought on a Keto/Paleo site it was worth
a mention people should make their own minds up

I'm ok with ripe bananas, they just sounded good to be fair.

I liked the banana idea @Olive It sounded a nice variation 🙂

They sound delicious.
And if they are not as low carb as some people would like, as @everydayupsanddowns mentioned in his post, the forum is a "broad church" so they could be perfect for someone else.
Please don't let this experience put you off posting food/recipe ideas.

Hey all, this thread was for pancake advice and not a discussion on bananas, can we get back on topic and continue to contribute with the wonderful advice you already have provided.

Let's face it, we're all bananas! 1613411410927.png

Let us know how they work if you decide to try them @Olive and @travellor 🙂

If my comment upset you I apologise but I was just pointing out any form of banana would still impact on levels, I used to love banana's and did enjoy them for the first couple of months of my journey but after developing my eating disorder the anxiety around things like that was unreal and unfortunately never had the guts to try them again xx

Confession: reader, I did not employ any of the lovely sounding recipes proposed here, primarily because I haven't shopped for strange flours yet - that's a step too far just now for me, The compromise was making smaller pancakes and a savoury bacon, mushroom and leek in white wine sauce filling.

The men in my life had 5 pancakes apiece and I had 2 and a bit. The downside? They both really liked the savoury filling so I only got one savoury pancake. Grrr.

The real confession is that the other pancake and a bit were covered in brandy butter. Terrible but, oh so lush esp with a drizzle of orange as well.

I have another 5 mile walk today - otherwise I hope I would not have done it!

@EllsBells sounds really nice! Hope you really enjoyed them! Next time hide the filling from the rest of them! LOL xx

Too right. One of them had never tried a savoury pancake in his life so was not expecting him to tuck in. D'oh.
