My GP has enrolled me in 12 weeks of nutrition education with Oviva.

First impression is not favourable I'm afraid with a tick box almost arrogant attitude and being very prescriptive in their assumptive approach to my diabetes.

I will continue with them for a while and it's just my second session after all. But if it continues in the vain of today, then I'm off!

Anyone out there have an opinion or experience of this bunch?

Not one i’ve heard mentioned here I’m afraid.

Desmond and Xpert seem to be the most common T2 courses offered.

I have no experience of that particular course but they seem to make the assumption one size fits all and that is by no means the case as witnessed from the posts here.
The level of the material is either too basic for people with some knowledge particularly scientific or goes way over the head of others who have no clue of the terminology used so it is difficult to feel they hit the right note. They do not seem to be designed for people who have complex medical issues as well as diabetes. Some of the information can be useful but worth backing up with your own research.

I recently did the Xpert course and found it informative and open minded as to diet types. I got referred by GP. It's 6 x90 min zoom group sessions st the moment. It comes with a decent course book alongside it.

I just had the Oviva call today. The nutritionist who shall remain nameless I felt was arrogant, didn't listen to a word I said, gave me tasks like a school child and targets which I have no idea why.

When I told her I'd already taken my HbA1c down from 70+ to low 50s with home BG tests showing I'd likely be in the 40s, "beginners luck" was the response

Weight loss continues, BP from my home tests is tracking 123/74.

I'm not sure I'll get anything out this, but as my DSN referred me for whom I've got a ton of respect, I'm in two minds, but not for simple ticks in boxes...

Dealing with some health professionals is a bit like dealing with some lawyers. :D:D

Lack of people and listening skills !!!! First Q after introducing yourself and thanking whoever for ringing - how can I help you?
