Just wanting to know how others go on when having to do overnight basal testing you're having to set a 3am alarm or a few alarms & you're partner/hubby/wife is sleeping & they've got work the next day?

hi Gill
think its a case of 'you gotta do what you gotta do' I set my alarm for 3am, usually wake up completely disoriented not knowing why the alarm is going off at 3am and then my husband reminds me.....obviously its not ideal but not its not like we're doing it because its fun. And it only takes a second so not a huge problem. Maybe you can do it on a Friday or Sat night when your husband / OH doesnt need to wake up early the next day?....
good luck, although I find these tests a pain, they do give you very important data.

I use the radio alarm as this comes on at an adjustable volume and feels a little gentler. OH sometimes sleeps through but doesn't mind being woke for the purpose of testing. It only takes a few mins, just like having to pop to the loo really 🙂

Has hubby told you not to disturb him or you feeling unnecessarily guilty?

I just get a few grunts & groans :(

Maybe on any basal testing nights I could just go & sleep on the sofa 🙂

I usually hit the sofa if I'm doing a full 'every 2 hours' session, but my OH is very understanding and doesn't mind if it's just one at 2 or 3am

No, stay in bed and grunt and groan back. He should be glad it's not him that has to deal with the D!

Good luck with the testing, btw x

my phone alarm is relatively quiet and I am not that heavy a sleeper, the wife doesn't mind either....

you would think with conditions as ideal as that I would do more overnight basal tests, lol, but i don't....🙂
