So I had my first consultant appointment today, a HCA did a finger prick to take a sample for Hba1c but it was the worst finger prick I have ever had, firstly she did it nearly on the pad then had to squeeze like god knows what, she didn't have a clue what she was doing!! anyway Hba1c came back at 39 so up a bit on last one, foot check I am low risk although barely any feeling in my big toe on right foot (nothing to do with the D it's from slicing my toe open when I was a teenager) all in all the Doc and the DSN were quite happy with how I am doing x

Ouch indeed! I always flinch when an HCA comes near me with a clicker lol! Great results @Kaylz, much better than my recent ones 🙄

Nice results Kaylz apart from the nasty prick! :D
I wish she'd let me do it myself she honestly had no clue  feel sorry for anyone else that has to see her today that's for sure 🙂 x

The ones they use are awful eh I was thinking I have my kit in my bag could I not just do it myself lol, then she had no idea how to use the machine or anything was slightly worrying, her nails were long as anything too and she nearly sliced my finger with one when she was squeezing the life out my finger, I came home and by lunch I had no trouble getting a drop! Trained HCA Pffft lol 🙂 x

An all round good result Kaylz - apart from the useless prick-er - really really pleased for you - well done. Out of interest were you given a follow up appointment or will you be notified by letter in ? months time? Take care x

Great - pleased to hear that things are going your way for a change Kaylz - diary a note that if you don't hear from them prior to your 6 months appt then perhaps a nudge-nudge phone call to enquire about date 🙂 but let's hope they're on the ball.

I've never had any problems with appointments so I don't expect any 🙂 x
