Rant alert 😡 Come on diabetes! I am beyond fed up with the endless anguish you throw out !

I've had an exceedingly painful right eye for the last week. I can look forward but if I try to look sideways or up it's agony. It isn't in my blind eye because that's just way too easy, it's in my eye with some precious central vision of course. I've been at the eye hospital this afternoon and have to go back on Friday to see what happens next to treat it. My optic nerve is inflammed for some reason -who knows why- but because my sight in that eye is already so diminished apart from the pain I wasn't aware of the changes.

I go to find out the future of my worst leg in 2 weeks and was already besides myself with worry about that when my sight stepped in to throw me off course!

I feel tired of battling it all at present and writing it down really helps me. I feel a bit of a wreck at the moment with both legs in casts and only able to look in one direction 😱

Thank you for this lovely forum to allow me to empty a bit of my head 🙂 Diabetes I really don't like you at present :(
 
Don't you just wish we could beat the bejesus out of it, it's so unfair that it gets to throw all the punches 😡

Do they know what has caused it? I had it with the prediagnosis B12 problem, and I remember that it was really very painful and very worrying. Is it a known diabetes related condition? I know it can be related to B12 and MS because of my own experience, but hadn't heard diabetes mentioned as a cause.

Big hugs for you (and I'd happily squeeze the fairy to death for you if I could)
 
My dear Flower, I can only offer {{{HUGS}}} I'd have to ban myself for what I'd like to call diabetes at the moment :( I do hope that you can find some relief and they can get to the bottom of things. Thinking of you, and hoping for only good things.

They don't know what has set it off, it is a very damaged eye having had maximum laser and a vitrectomy along with a cataract I'm waiting to have removed. I do have regular B12 injections as my levels are always low. I have been told of the MS link but can't go there at the moment and hope it responds to treatment and clears off. The treatment is steroids so my blood sugar will be warming up for a few roller coaster rides 😱

For the first time in many years I feel really tired of battling it all, the blood sugar bit is the easy bit!
 
We are ALL on your side Flower & rant as much as you want. I know a few years ago when I was dehydrated my eyes used to ach. A regular drink of water helped. Really good luck for Friday 🙂

Flower I am so very, very sorry to hear that you are suffering like this. I can't begin to understand how you are feeling but you must be so pxxxxxd off. I'm really hoping that they can sort it out very soon and that they find a cause that can be easily treated but completely understand how worrying it is. Massive hugs and love for you xx Is there anything that we can do for you?

I can still see enough through my poorly eye to cope and have to collect a prescription for it today before returning to hospital tomorrow.

Oh the fun packed life of being a diabetic 🙄
 
Oh dear Flower, what a horrible series of problems you're having. I hope the pain/inflammation in your eye can be quickly resolved (perhaps it is another autoimmune issue?), and also hope you have some good news concerning your legs. xx

I to was feeling really pxxxxt off yesterday don't let the type 1 barxxsted win I know its easy to talk but with your good hand (your choice which one) give diabetes 1 finger its not worth 2. All the very best for tomorrow we will all be thinking of you. What time is your appointment.

What a relief 🙂 I've been to the eye hospital to check on the progress of my eye and to see if the drops are working. Thank goodness my eye is feeling a lot better today. The bit of sight I've got is like permanently looking through a polo mint, all my peripheral vision has gone and not being able to move my eye freely without pain made managing and especially trying to cross the road even more of a lottery/challenge!

Got to go back next week to check on progress. I am beyond relieved right now 🙂
