Gawd ..... these surveys always ask me to spend time on analysing how I feel about things I avoid thinking about, like complications 'later' since they are depressing! I am AWARE that 'stuff' can happen, of course - hence why I do as much as I am prepared to do, to attempt to avoid them happening.

Once you have Type 1 you have to spend your whole life practising Damage Limitation and you have to skilfully shoehorn the rest of life (relationships, earning money, family, fun - every single thing that takes place in someone's life) into the Damage Limitation plan. At some stage, we don't even realise that's what we are doing day after day after day - because the DL Plan has actually become an extra facet of life itself.

The whole concept of that is so vast - it's too big for my brain to handle when it's already got its hands full juggling 'my life' !

LOL I know just what you mean @trophywench!

It always strikes me how differently I might answer these questions from one week/month to the next, depending on how frustrating/uncooperative my diabetes is being at the time!

'Do you worry about health in later life' - oh come ON - are you telling me that anyone in their late sixties with several chronic health conditions one of which relies on CONSTANT medication - and timely testing and extra medication numerous times daily doesn't worry? They must be bloody stupid if they don't.

Is a sex life important to you? well yes it is or no it isn't - but you don't ask me if I've got one, do you? - so how do I or you know that the response to that Q you didn't ask, isn't a major contributory factor towards my state of mind generally about everything?

LOL

Done. There were no questions about co existent conditions which are more bother to me than diabetes is.

I had the same problem Mike and realised I was answering the questions more from the other more life threatening condition so I gave up on it as it wouldn’t have really reflected how I feel about the diabetes.

That one threw me too Jenny. ‘Do you have one or want one?’ are opposite ends of the spectrum so I’m not sure without differentiating, how anything is gleaned from that question. It’s like ‘are you or do you want to be rich?’ You can’t tell from that whether someone is loaded or totally skint and fed up! :D

Still I’m sure there’s some clever analytical basis behind the way the questions have been formed.

LOL

Which end of the scale - it probably depends on whether you like the sex life you're having or aren't bothered by not having the sex life you'd like to have I expect !
